Have you tried an old sheet rather than towels? Less absorbent, dries quicker but equally good at keeping nasty stuff off your pride and joy.

I use an old single fitted sheet for my Chipmaster. The elasticated edges help.

You will just move the problem somewhere else.

You need to either; stop the moisture getting in, or remove it once in.

all my machines use suds (6)......so a mix of oil and water........
they have been covered up for about a fortnight now with old blanckets and Duvet's and with a 11watt curly wurly bulb in a work lamp holder, on 24/7.......
my machines are not used everyday but I don't bother with too much extra lube.....if I know it'll be a while before use I cover the bed-ways etc with new
Synthetic engine oil and just wipe the chuck's over with an oily rag........never any rust....ever......2 machine are new, well 2 years old.........
been doing that for the last 15 years.....

ALSO, use the same bulb (24/7) in a proper bulb holder just under the mig wire roll, never any rust.....got fed up with chucking out the rusty reels of wire in the spring.....
my workshops are just draughty barns, no insulation....in a converted water mill.....
looking forward to my new place......

i know a guy that used to use old sheets and quilt cover soaked in oil to cover machinery, it worked well till he was grinding by one and it went up.

I have about 20 damp traps in my track car, it sits in the garage and gets in quite a state without the. With them it’s managable as long as I check on it every couple of weeks.

I use an old quilt cover over my bikes. Machines I just keep well oiled. I try to do heavy grinding pointing away from the machines.

My clean side is supposed to be shielded by freezer strip curtain, but round to it got in the way

Get some bike covers from the £ shop.

when I get large cardboard boxes I flatpack them and keep them for putting over equipment when I am grinding

also handy when spraying things

Old duvet covers, without holes, cotton sheets.

Wipe down with an oily rag after use for the lathe and mill.

Talk about dopey!! I've just remember the heated cables I have which are designed for the floors of vivariums, perfect for the job......
