Have never had any issues with UPS when sending big/heavy things. Costs a couple quid extra but well worth it.having bought @mtt.tr welder,I’ve found my local courier won’t take it as it’s 43kg,assuming mitt doesn’t have a fork lift at home is there a reliable one who can collect and deliver to me,btw NOT Hermes. Thanks.
43kg is much safer on a pallet than a parcel. Unless it is extremely well packed with thick padding under it.
At my previous job we had a large Scot working in production, he ended up getting a special letter written saying manual handling guidelines just didn't apply to him.Needs to be on a pallet i think. Guidelines for safe one person lifting in workplace were something like 30kg max
Second that. Just had a Powcon arc welder delivered from York by UPS, wrapped as a parcel. Weight 34 Kg. UPS charged about 30 Pounds. The delivery guy said their maximum is 70 Kg.!Have never had any issues with UPS when sending big/heavy things. Costs a couple quid extra but well worth it.
