how do you go about having a parcel collected from someones house and sent to your address tnx in advance . in other words you organise and pay for the courier to collect not the person you are getting it from

Well I'm a virgin to this. But not for long... Hopefully.

You agree payment and packaging with seller / vendor.

You find a shipping agent i.e. someone on this forum with a pallet company.

You arrange collection and delivery with pallet company / courier.

You then get a sticker emailed to you when you've paid carriage / shipping.

Send to vendor / seller, who sticks in on box / pallet.

Gets collected and hopefully delivered.

I always go for a tracking number.

That's how it works at work I believe...

For small parcels (up to 15kg) I ask if they have a Hermes shop nearby and then I book the hermes online and email them the label. Only had to do it once or twice though. One was a drop-off at the parcel shop, the other was collected from them.

If I really really wanted something and they didn't want/were unable to get a box I'd post a box to them with the return label inside.

not in my experience failed to collect said item from one of the members on here

and to date i havent even got my money back even though i requested it

I've found them to be the best of the bunch ... but likely depend on the local agent involved.
Their Parcel Force 24/48 option is what I use. Don't even need a label printed, they'll collect a boxed MIG under 30 Kg from you for around £12.
Not had one damaged yet in a dozen sent, guess they're too heavy to chuck around...

^^^^ parsel to go are only agents if there are problems they do the leg work as your booked with them but there only as good as the company you book

that is really cheap, according to the parcelforce website the Express 24 price for that should be £48.78 and the Express 48 large is £74.40

My preferred courier is DPD - usually about £12 - 16 for next day collection then next day delivery up to a 30kg I think and pretty much any size of box.

Also useful I know the local delivery guy very well so can just leave a parcel out for him and he'll just collect it.

Almost any carrier will do collect from an address different to the account of the person paying and deliver it the the person or elsewhere for a small sum .
Just carefully read their websites to make sure you enter the right information in the right box , on some sites it's easy to cock it up and put addresses in the wrong places.

It can get expensive in the back & beyond places but that the price for living in such places .
Remember to add any details to help the drivers find the places if there is a box for such information.

Doesn't seem right if 48 costs more than 24.

The delivery by PF48 yesterday was just £9 something.
The sender chose to take the 26 Kg box to a post office instead of it being collected from his address, so emailed him the label.
