I've replaced an existing power cable which went to my shed (moved the shed backwards 6ft, cable doesn't reach any more!) and I found the original (Wickes-supplied) 'weatherproof' junction box had signs of water ingress. I then discovered it was only IP44 so no suprise really. What I want is a box where I can have a glanded SWA cable coming in one side (I've got the outdoor glands already) and 20mm plastic conduit in the other. It's the end fitting for the conduit I was vexed about last time as I couldn't seem to find a purpose-made part with a compression fitting (or something similar) to seal around the condy and stop water getting in. Anyone?

These are what I use round the farm - swa glands go straight in and any 20 mm normal gland will also screw in:

You need a male adaptor, it has an M20 thread that will screw into the Wiska box Awemason linked to. I tend to run a bead of silicone round the joint, just to make sure

or put the adaptor in with solvent weld cement https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=ssl#q=conduit weld cement if the box is above ground drill a small drain hole underneath to let any condensation out. all outdoor sockets and switches have them on a pvc conduit system

Chatterton's Compound is a plasticine like dough that is designed to stop water getting to things. Mould it round all the exposed bits inside the junction box to form a barrier and you won't have condensation or water ingress problems. Mind you it's a bit of a mess to work through if you have to re-make the joints in the future.
