Just reading a report in the local paper about the coroners verdict on a fatal car crash:
"There was an alignment problem with the car which led to Miss xxxxx's car counter-steering, which would have been worse at higher speeds".
"Witnesses said the car crabbed across all three lanes and the hard shoulder before hitting a tree on the embankment".
From the accounts it seems the driver joined the motorway from the slip road and moved across to the third lane, they didn't think she was speeding although they thought something was wrong with the car. The car then crabbed back across the width of the motorway before crashing!
Now I understand bump steer but I have never heard of counter-steering, what is it and what mis-alignment would cause it?
