Saw these in a skip earlier. Brand new and about £8+ each. I’m sure they’ll get use d for something eventually. Why would you just chuck £25 away?

Perhaps because they're awkward to store, and as many of us now know, storage space costs money, or trying to sell them on would involve dealing with people. (That would want them delivered, or haggle on the £5 you ask for each, or agree to buy and just not turn up.... )

Just my thoughts.

I tried many things. Two new, long lengths of 40mm SHS were bent like a bannana, sod archimedies!
Chopped them up with a pickaxe and buried. Started the fence from the other end to avoid it.
