Could someone with a 300tdi do me a favour?

Recently, my expansion tank and heater matrix in my defender started leaking, it was a faulty tank cap as a new one has sorted that.

But im not sure whats 'normal' inside the expansion tank, i have a fair bit of movement of water from the small pipe in my expansion tank as i rev it.

Could someone record what happens inside there tank as they rev it a little?

Nice, i was fairly certain it was normal but just wanted to make sure.
Its been running fine other than the cap failing, must have been a quite bit of pressure, the tank buldged out on the square seam on the bottom, it was old though.

Treating it is something i need to stop doing, its getting an aftermarket one everything I've bought recently has been genuine/oem, i dread to think what ive spent.

It's a lot less than the cummins mafia on Facebook reckon, but still enough to make a tight northerners eyes water

Yeah, im in that group. Typical internet "look at me, ive far too much money to waste" mentality from a lot of them.

I'm also on the Cummins Landrover facebook group. Some nice builds on it. I think though that they have probably pushed the prices of the 6bt engines and associated gearboxes up a fair bit as more people look to do a conversion. Truck breakers have cottoned on to this and will have raised their prices to capitalise on the aparent popularity of fitting a 6bt into a Land Rover.

I've seen some of the quality of the top notch conversion kits available on that page. Less said about that the better. It's the way they act like it's the hardest conversion known to man that annoys me. There's far more technical conversions on the market

Well it is supposed to circulate but most dont, the header tanks very rarely get warm on most, the branch tee usually block up because the small pipe comes out of the stat housing then down under the aircon pump if fitted, to the branch they usually air lock there. What I did on mine was to run the pipe directly across to the header tank make afitting to go in just under the cap neck above the water line then as soon as the engine starts, water is forced /allowed to easily circulate into the header, ridding the stat housing of air immediately because the stat is higher than the whole system, my header gets nice and warm the heater works better and havnt had any head gasket problems because water is flowing from the start. you can see here the small bleed hose that starts where you bleed the engine by the stat housing and joins the hose that connects to the bottom of the header I lift the hose and run it straight across into the header ridding the system of air and do away with that round tee piece that block.
