got my bottle today. When i put the regulator on it it only reads 80 Bar. the label says fill pressure is 200Bar. I am using a CO2 reg with an adapter and there is no leaks so were is the other 120Bar or is it giving false reading as its designed for CO2 (its a good one from weldequip)
it was filled by AP and was a fresh bottle into the depot as they had to get it in for me. Would the temperature make much difference. The bottle weighs 26KG and an empty weighs 9KG
The temperature wouldn't make that much difference.
I would let AP know you suspect there may be a problem straight away then either try it with another reg or take it back and get them to test it
As Malcolm says it is unusual to get under filled cylinders but having said that it does happen
Another thought.....have a look and see what your CO2 reg is rated to, CO2 cylinders are normally filled to a lower pressure than mixed gases, think it is usually around 150 bar and consequently the regs will have a lower rating, by banging 230 bar through it you may have damaged it and this may cause an inaccurate reading
have finally got the bottle resolved. Took the bottle back in today and tried my regulator on a different bottle and that confirmed that the fill pressure was 200Bar and my reg was under reading got the bottle swapped over with no problem.
