Hi new to site hello, looks good have a Cosmo 170 yes seen that now have had it for ages but never really used it but got big welding job to do. So my question is is this welder still worth modifying hope so don't reqlly want to buy another ?
No worries! I got a steel liner for a similar welder, form the shop at the top of the page.
One of the ones on this page, but I rang to ask him, as I wasn't sure which one would fit.
"Clarke" ones fit you have to cut them to length there may also be a smaller one in the swan neck which its best to replace too.
if you can find a switching 24v ?amp transformer then fit that using the same technique as the first mods in the SIP super thread, i did the amp and rectifier mod and its quite a nice welder now...for cheap low power hobby mig.
they also suffer sticky switch syndrome so always flick all the switches at start up.
