I definitely read that one of the American railroad carriers painted some Corten coaches where they'd not been previously painted and they rusted quick as.
Sea water or sea air will make it rust...it makes stainless rust....its the chlorine in the salt.....ends up as Hydrochloric acid.........Sulphur in the air as well (railroad diesel fumes) will form sulphuric and that will help it rust
