Corsa 2005 1.0 help

[Spark plug]

I try not to get involved in fixing cars these days but there is a bloke who's cars I've fixed for years, this wasn't a probloem when he had a 300 tdi discovery as I have a hammer and chisel.

Now he has a 1.0l corsa he's been haveing probloems with the engine management light coming on and it going into limp mode.

So I sent him to a friend to have a look at the fault codes and it's came back with

"Random misfire cylinders 1 and 3" it's not too long since I serviced it and changed the plugs, also a new crankshaft sensor was fitted . Would I be correct in thinking the coil pack would be the probable cause?

I have fitted coil packs to these for a code like this to a Vauxhall

Sounds like coil pack breaking down to me

Ile get one tomorow and try it. That was what I was expecting it to be.

If you can persuade him to wear the expense go for a Bosch coil.

He only has the corsa because he swapped it for the discovery as he couldn't afford the 3 pages of welding on the fail sheet. If it was me I would, but he'd rather fit a cheep one every year as spend the extra now
