I used to work quite a bit at York mailing on the industrial estate behind there, got to watch the mclaren f1 cars in about 2008 ish testing there, noise was phenomenal (before they went to the new quiet turbo engines!)

My wife is a writer by trade, and is hopefully going to finish her first novel (actually third, but she gave up on the previous two) soon.

She says "you'll not be comfortable if I earn more than you". And I say "WHAT? You are kidding, right?!? If you become a millionaire famous novelist, I am quitting my job the next day and building a garage the size of an office block!"

A woman I used to work with was married to a guy whose mother was a writer; one day they popped round and said "Happy Easter, here's some flowers".

Local builders merchant is into his Porsche's. Bought a AM, didn't like it so took it back, dealer wouldn't give him £75k, for a car he paid over £125k for 7 days earlier; it lives in one of his garages now.

Another mate remarried, and he now jets all over the world following his wife while she conducts her business, he meanwhile does as he likes.
