Try this one for size - years ago I was drilling kitchen vent holes for a plumber on a housing estate in Croydon. He had one last hole he wanted drilled today but fit the vent tomorrow. Asked if I could drill enough of it so that he could pop it out with a hammer next day but not actually leave a hole right through in the old dear's wall. I said I'd try to stop when I hit the plaster then it would come out easy.
I drilled that 4" hole from the outside in about 10 minutes, got the brick core out with 15mm of plaster on the end - left the wallpaper behind un-damaged

lousiest walls I worked on was random piece granite. the Norton core drill wouldn't even touch it sds drills just sparked as did the kango chisels the whole rewire was a dead loss should have taken a diamond cutting disk in an angle grinder to cut in the socket boxes and chase up the walls but was working away from home and it was supposed to be 1st fixed in 2 days
Last time I had to leave one I drilled all the way and squirted a bit of expanding foam all around the coreNever!
Talc is a good dry lubricant, it reduces the friction on the core body giving the power tool and easier ride and can stop some of those nasty snatching moments that test your grip. That's a new one on me, and I've been in the trade for 30 yrs+. Learn something new every day.
