@MattF I have that Bosch screwdriver, bought a few for the team so had one for myself too

Used it a few times and no complaints. I like the push to turn on feature but it does take some getting used to

We are using them for UPS and network cabinet management, brackets, batteries, network management cards etc

So I called into screwfix to have a look at the MacAllister screwdriver but it was all sealed up in clear moulded plastic so no testing. For just £16 odd I thought sod it & just bought it, screwfix have a good returns policy anyway!

After using it there's no chance of it going back unless it breaks! It fulfills all my requirements perfectly & I'm well pleased with it. The only gripe I would have is that the chuck is designed to hold short screwdriver bits directly, if you fit a bit holder or long bits there is quite a bit of axial slop due to the chuck not being able to locate securely on the shank of the long bits.

I have a pneumatic screwdriver somewhere, its tiny in comparison to the battery drivers and can be regulated down to virtually no torque..

Glad to hear you got something useful! They do have a bit of play in them but I can't complain about mine, had it for 2 years and use it quite regularly with no issues!
I also have one of these that I use an awful lot. No torque settings or control but it's great to use and makes 3.5mm socket pins a doddle!

Quite like a Croc, very versatile, good for summer holidays around a pool, ideal for caravan site shower blocks easy to slip on to pop out for some coal or logs.
Not so hot for anglegrindering or welding

Will 50mm bits be long enough if you chop the end off?

They problem is the locating groove in long bits & bit holders is too big & the locating ball bearing/pin in the chuck isn't fit to fill it. Short bits only have a small nick in them for location.
