I've got a 30 year old Lancia Beta (cue all the old rust jokes) and I'm doing a complete renovation of the fuel system. The tank has been cleaned out and sealed and I'm replacing the 30 y.o. rubber fuel lines with modern ethanol resistant hose. The one bit I haven't looked at is the steel lines running from the tank at the back to the carb in the engine bay. The top and tail of this is rubber, but the main section looks to be steel.
I'd like to replace all the steel section with 8mm stainless steel (316) tubing, but was wondering how easy or difficult this stuff would be to bend. I'm looking at 8mm seamless tube with a 1mm wall thickness. Would I be able to bend this with the average 6mm/8mm/10mm Rothenberger type bender that plumbers use, or would I need something heavier duty?
