hello,
i just bought a large greenhouse and want to connect up some water butts.
The gutters are half round ali, about 35mm across and came just open at both ends. The company who provided it will sell me a couple of bits of plastic pipe to connect it up for....£66. sigh.
I was thinking, to avoid wasting £66, to just block both ends and at the butt end, drill a 22mm hole in the bottom of the gutter and drop a bit of copper pipe down and attach to the barrel. I'd need to flare the end of the copper pipe out inside the gutter to fix it.
Is there some nice way to connect the copper to the ali. I can epoxy it, or use some marine type sealant, but anything more permanent?
anyone got any better ideas?
Thanks a lot
