Okay, I have a Telwin 160A MIG which had a 'hard-wired' hose which I thought would be worth converting to a euro fitting.
This is the new fitting (cost next to nothing):
This is my welder's inner bits, showing the original cables from the hose running to the pos & neg connectors:
The issue I have is that the wires on the new fitting are tiny compared to the original. But thinking about it, the existing wires aren't that beefy all the way up the hose as they're much too thick, so they must 'slim down' to get into the hose.
New versus old wires:
Do you think it would be okay to run the thin new wires to the connectors, or are they much to lightweight to carry the current? If they are, the fitting is pretty much useless. However, I'm thinking this must be how it's supposed to work and that the wires that go up the hose must, by nature, be pretty slim.
Any ideas on the above?
Thanks,
Simon.
