Converting a suction blast cabinet to pressure blast

On my cheapo pot when the bottom valve wore through I moved the one from the back to the bottom, the one from the top and a brand new one at the top.

They all wear due to grit finding its way back upstream.

I did wonder whether I could make a valve from a normal gate valve and some silicone tubing.

you can make them I did one .not very successful and consistent on sand and fine grit

just knocking another pot up for someone I won't be doing any more this is the 6th im not welding this one though guys doing it himself. il post it up when finished it will be the same as the one in the picture near the saw I just blasted the rust off

Do you fill that up with blast media then run an air line in and one out? Then just a safe area to blast in?

airline in to water separator and shut off valve . the blast hose out of bottom regulator . I either blast outside with a pressure fed helmet or in the cabinet inside . anything big I do outside using larger pot and the mobile road compressor

Cool, I need one of these so will keep it in mind if I ever get round to building one as I have 4 cycle frames to blast

that valve is totaly useless. its just a choke valve. squeezes up the silicone tube inside .ok on large pots but that's about it no use on pots less than 90 cfm using a 6mm jet the type I make are on the Clemco mini pot not a choke valve there not any better than a ball valve small scale

You must be thinking of something different there is no tube inside the valve so it would be unfair to say it's totally useless if you are talking about something completely different.

The one on my big Clemco pot is as you describe but the one on my cabinet isn't. My cabinet probably runs 25-30CFM and runs like a dream

I used a roll of plastic film threaded behind the glass and pulled down as required.

Just ordered a roll of clear plastic to try out. If it's any use I will post a link.
I'm thinking of setting up a roller system to just wind it off the roll. I'll see how I get on.

While I'm waiting for it to arrive and set up, I had a brain wave and put some A3 plastic sheets through the laminater.
Not a perfect fit but works a lot better than the totally opaque plastic cover I was using.

I positioned the roll at the top of the window, removed the screws along the top & bottom of the window frame, fed the film behind the window so it exited on the outside at the bottom. As the film became cloudy I just pulled more film through.

Unfortunately I don't have any photos as I sold all the gear when I retired.

Well I've ordered the easy fill type pressure pot on the link above, and got a couple of different sized nozzles from ace engineering. So just the valve to sort out after it's all here

The pressure pot arrived today. Hopefully get it tried out tomorrow.
