Is that just because everything is going up or because something is happening with supply? We've just shifted a solid fuel rayburn to install!
Welsh pit closing, can still get foreign rubbish, and other types of solid fuel, but price by this winter who knows?
Our Rayburn was the only new thing we could afford to buy in the first five years after buying our house for £7.500 46 yrs ago.
Cost £350 less trade discount £100, it's served us well, only on it's 3rd set of fire bricks, 2 new grate wheels and I've just made a 3rd ash pan for it.
Back then it was hardly ever let out, not alight 4 summer months nowadays proof that global warming is real!
