are but griteneys been looking for other stuffI think I've already exhausted that source of variably useful knowledge, but you never know, I may not have found them all, let this be a test..![]()
on an edit what is the reason why you would convert it heating or cooking ? or both
whilst coal would give you the most heat and also the longest burn to a degree it kinda comes with an expense and also fumes with itBoth and to save money on coal, and heating water which might be a problem due to cooling the fire too much.
Oh go on, you know you want tobut this time im not posting video links![]()
What do you expect the gains to be?
Is that just because everything is going up or because something is happening with supply? We've just shifted a solid fuel rayburn to install!Anthracite is about to become expensive or unobtainable.
Anthracite used to be affordable in Wales, wife used to bring bags back to Bristol, where it was twice as expensive for our Aga, yes, no error. Is that just because everything is going up or because something is happening with supply? We've just shifted a solid fuel rayburn to install!
We used to get three large bunkers filled up each year and supplement with wood (this was at my parents where this Rayburn has migrated from). I was hoping to do the same here. I have a lot of wood too though. I am in Wales enough to pick some up if its still that much cheaper!Anthracite used to be affordable in Wales, wife used to bring bags back to Bristol, where it was twice as expensive for our Aga, yes, no error.
We only burn wood in our Rayburn, as over here, coal is stupid prices.
Well admittedly I'm talking twenty years ago, when a bag of anthracite was £3.50 and my wife was younger, etc...We used to get three large bunkers filled up each year and supplement with wood (this was at my parents where this Rayburn has migrated from). Decent coal is becoming a major concern amongst the steam people. Another casualty of not being able to get cheap stuff from the eastCheaper to fuel, like free wood, and also just for the fun of it.
Just a feasibility study really, we only have the Rayburn in the kitchen living room and a wood stove in the lounge that's only lit at weekends.
