Conversion of Airing Cupboard in to a Shower

My 4-bed 1960's house has just a single bathroom with a downstairs loo. A possibility might exist to create an en-suite shower in one bedroom if the space currently occupied by an airing cupboard can be made use of. Attached drawing gives idea; would appreciate any thoughts as to how do-able this might be?

By the time you have a finished wall surface it will be about 400x450, be a squeeze but I have fitted one similar

might have changed to a combi boiler tank not needed . stud wall can be clad with waterproof backer boards and tiled

We did something similar to our first house near Wantage, good use of space, we moved the tank to the loft - the first floor was mainly within the eaves so just went sideways a few feet.

Can you pinch a few inches from the existing bathroom, or do you want to leaves the walls intact?

Close off cupboard door move other door to main wall will give you a bit more room.

I did something similar at my last place, block up the door for the airing cupboard, remove the 2 short airing cupboard walls (above and left), fit a shower cubicle in the enlarged bathroom where the airing cupboard used to be.
For an easy fix, line the new shower cubicle with plywood backed shower panels so you don't need to replaster in the bathroom.
Edit: is it possible to move the remaining door to the left slightly, to give more space for your shower cubicle? <insert comments about a few extra inches here >

Tip: I invited the local council building / planning inspector out to discuss options before I started, and got written confirmation from him that it was ok for me to remove the 2 non-load-bearing walls. This was *very* helpful when I sold the house.

Tankage; not something I've gone in to; we use oil heating - not sure what implications that may have. Our boiler is damned old!!!
Walls - 1960's standard issue breeze block
Bathroom door could go left 150mm
Inner wall (by wash basin, has a central heating radiator on it, and even if removed, very little space available there.

Can you fit a sliding / pocket door in place of the current door. That will give you a lot more space inside the bathroom - we did this very successfully with a small utility off our kitchen.

is it an en-suite or a separate room? Trying to figure if that door into the bedroom is the main door or there’s another one ?

Move bathroom door right and fit a quadrant shower cubicle on the left corner where existing door is.

Can the bathroom door be moved to the left, presuming cupboard wall is plasterboard and stud you should gain a bit with just glass side panel, could do walk in and open end and include handbasin in wet area.

Toilet with built in sink in cistern (yes it's a thing) can then extend into sink area and keep toilet in same place lots of options, really depends on budget and how handy you are.

check the roof area first make sure that wall isnt a supporting wall

ensuite showers are ok but you will bring warm humid air into the bedroom with your design

a bathroom redesign would be better for size reference

I tried the various sized shower cubicles at DIY stores for size and found that some were just too small even though at first glace they seemed OK. Might be worth doing the same to see how you'd fit / wash in a small space ?

I doubt a human bean could even fit in a space that small, let alone shower in it.

Personally I'd block the bathroom door and remove cupboard stud walls. Use the cupboard door as entry to room and fit a decent size shower bottom left corner.

In my drawing, I included detail where is was directly related to the airing cupboard. In the room I designated as "bathroom" there is indeed a bath on the LHS. I think the bottom line is, that it is do-able, but not a great way forward.
