Control cables needed

Hi Guys

I am needing to make up some longer than standard Vespa scooter cables,

they are various inner and outer sizes (no one fits all)

the standard 1600 odd length cables can be had for £5 odd each

BUT BOY do they want to kick you were it hurts to buy the materials on there own

I am looking at 3 times that for just a length of the stuff

You would have thought it the other way around

anyways, do you guys know were I can buy the inner and outer control cables and make my own with out braking the bank (as I want to also make a second set as spares)

There is two gear gables, throttle, clutch (no brake cables needed)

Both these places will be able to sort you out although you find normal bicycle stuff will work, the problem you are going to have is if a standard cable is made they probably make 100s offshore so the price comes right down. This is why the materials look expensive. I doubt you will buy the materials for £5

What type of nipple do you need? Bicycle tandem rear brake and gear cables are long and readily available.

I needed/wanted a size that's not comon now days

1.25 inner
1.6 inner
And the readily available 1.9 inner

I did indeed find 1.6 inner from a bicycle tandem

The 1.9 I found on ebay

Still looking for the 1.25 inner but ill opt for 1.2

Now to find a non lined outer to suit that's not over sized to fit all

Shimano inner gear cables are 1.2mm, SRAM 1.1mm.
So a Shimano inner gear cable for a tandem may suit.
