As time moves forward they now sell for over £1200 Just crazy if you don't have one and want one , but party time if you want to sell one. That's life for you. I made some headlamps from a piece of ally bar that's been kicking around for 30 years. I new it would come in handy.
The Alumatub bodywork was made by Marcel de Ley and his sons. Sadly also no longer with us. https://www.hemmings.com/stories/2018/06/13/master-metalshaper-marcel-de-ley-dies-at-age-89
Hi, There's a guy on Retrorides sympathetically refurbishing one for his boss. In typical Meccano fashion there's a choice of body options. https://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/214913/barn-find-1937-meccano-motor Colin

I spent some time making the exhaust manifold / headlamps/ and louvre. Had a quick polish of the roof to see what it would look like if it was left shiny and well not too happy so will think on it. I do remember seeing the alumatub a long while back and what a wonderful thing , maybe this is where the idea sprung from though this obviously is only a model.
Finished it off today and decided that I should leave the roof untreated. Thank you all for your help and suggestions.
