considering a Maxi scooter

I've looked at them a few times but am always put off by the physical size of them and the way everything is so much trouble to get at to fix anything. Worked on a couple where you had to dismantle the back end to get the wheel out, still like the idea of them though now my Hornet has gone. Piaggio x9 250 was a nice ride and didn't hang about for a small scooter, straight up to 70 and would keep at that speed quite nicely.

T Max ,, buy one used ,,, ride it for a year ,and if you like the concept buy what you actually want ,,, if you dont like it , it will sell on and the whole exercise will have cost you very little.

don't like them. I've had 2 Maxi so I know what they're like.
wont be tear arsing down the road on one ,wont even do it on my bike. left all that behind.
leisurely rides these days
as for the adv not keen on them.
no BMW dealers here or yam.
not keen on the look of the BMW scooter.to squared off for my liking.
like I have said the 750 Forza has big wheel same as the NC750x.

Can't help you with new stuff but back in the day I had no problem sticking a tent, couple of sleeping bags, kit bags and travelling twos up for a few hundred miles for the weekend on this.Furthest was exeter to bridlington (320 miles each way) for one day.Mind you I was in my early twenties at the time.Just bought another one a few months ago.

I've a Vespa (ET4 125cc) that I bought at a year old in 1998. Have never rode it nor put it on the road. It's been in storage for 22 years ! Another one of my "roundtuits" and one day I'll recommission

I have just bought and sold a 1993 Vespa PK50 with 480 miles on it...obsolete genuine barn find as it still had the pimples on the tires and a tax disc from 1996. Guy bought it new and rode it for 1 month in 1996 then parked it up in a dry warm wooden garage until i sniffed it out

I love scooters

had several over the years for commuting to keep the miles down on my other bikes

had a 50cc to commute 2 miles but quickly upgraded to a 250cc as it was painfully slow

buy the biggest engine you can and as I’m over 6ft I’d get a taller screen

also don’t get a three wheel one they ride horribly and feel like the front end isn’t connected to the rest of the bike

I really want a 180 2stroke scooter

Work colleague of mine used to ride one to work every day. I used to overtake him on my pushbike It was nicknamed "the hairdryer" Here's a picture of my LambrettaLi150

@daleyd t max, apparently one of the most nicked bikes in france, so easy to ride, and mad fast.... plenty round paris way, excellent for transport in the inner city.. That and those mad three wheel jobs... piagio I think..

He loved his, he even brought it across to Uk a few times (his missus was financial director for crown forklifts and worked here in week and commuted back to France at weekends - they had a flat in Richmond so not short of a Bob or two!).

bit off topic best bike i had for distance travel was the Yamaha virago
XV1100 low seat legs slightly forward you could drive till you ran out of fuel get off and able to walk etc 5gear at 30 to 110 no sawing up and down on the box

I don't know about the 1100 but found a friends 535 way too small for me to be comfortable

What's the Benly like ? I used to look after a red one for a chap I worked with when I first started work, it was his daily transport. I had a CD175 what they now call the sloper.
