Having watched this a few times on TV my wife has decided we need our roof done. But as it's 6 X 5 metres I know these people will be too expensive.

But looking on their website they claim the insulation is unique to them and the only one that should be used. (Well they would be stupid not to)
But I am sure there must be an alternative "supply only" source.
Has any one used any or know where I can get some.
My roof is fitted with polycarbonate in thick aluminium strips and 3 wall polycarbonate sheets. So fixing it should not be a problem even if the fixings don't come with it.


Suggestions welcome.

I’m sure Actis Triso has more layers (19) than theirs,but I don’t know whether it is UV resistant which is what conservaheat is meant to be .

Did ours a few weeks ago with battens and multi layer foil stuff. Not planning on boarding and plastering it though, the extra weight of that worries me. The plan is to get some material and drape/hang from the ceiling to hide the foil.
Got a couple of rolls of Superquilt stuff from Wickes on special offer and delivered Free.

The weather has cooled down now obviously, but it is definitely warmer/cooler by a few degrees when you want it, loads quieter when it rains too.

The main reason was as a test to see how much light it would block from our living room (it only get light through the conservatory doors) with a view to taking it down and building a more robust garden room with proper roof on the footprint at some point.

I stuck 25mm insulation board in between the aluminium battens to the poly carb with no nails, stuck insulation tape to the board joins, which wasn't that good tbh.
Left it for a fair while like that as did not have the ambition, skill nor tools to do a decent job on the boarding. Robin did a grande job, now painted it feels like part of the house and with a good sized low level rad, it has transformed it into a fair sized space used throughout the year.

S'what I did - 50mm PIR board with breathable membrane behind it and OSB in front of it. Taped up the joins with silver insulating tape, while still leaving some gaps at the eaves for the air to flow.

Just been out in it earlier this evening (standalone summer house) and, after turning the electric oil heater on I had to turn it off after 15 minutes as the place was toasty. It's 8C outside...

You might want to check how the polycarbonate panels fit first. To remove ours you need to pull out a wedge seal on the underside on the panel to allow the caps on the top to be prized off (yes, really).

Not really. It just occurred to me that if anyone’s intending to block off the access to the underside of the panels it might be worth checking to see if they can still be removed. Chances are the panels won’t last as long as the ceiling and rest of conservatory etc.
