So the second hand conservatory I built In the last house came with a very quick to build and get perfectly level steel durabase system.
Now having moved and needing a conservatory for the dogs, but no such luck finding a conservatory and base together I decided to buy a conservatory and source the base separately.
Online suppliers seem to be in the region of £2k for a base - this obviously set me off looking at steel prices.
A nice delivery from fh Brundle arrived with everything I needed.
A couple of evenings in the week doing some cutting and welding and some localised pad foundations meant I was ready for this weekends work.
Not all the pre-fab went quite to plan but nothing drastically insurmountable.
Have been delayed with rain on and off, but this was the result.
I’ve collected insulation and plywood for the flooring from various local sources at a knock down price from other people’s left over projects.
All in I reckon I’ve built the base including insulation etc for £550 so happy with what I’ve achieved.
Hopefully a dry day or 2 in the week will see the conservatory up.
