hay,
i have a lincon electric gasless welder and i am using .030" wire with a .035" contact tip. it flows through fine but the arc will not strike for me. i moved close to the ground clamp, and it didnt work. any ideas
You should really use the correct size contact tip to the wire you are using but, even so, you should still be able to strike an arc... nothing?

after i posted this, i went out and was messing around with the welder, and the arc struck and i ran a few beads. i have no idea how or why but i went to the begining of the peice to run another bead, and it wouldnt strike. thanks again
