I have some damage to one of the Borbet alloys on my Vito so I thought I would look around for a replacement but in doing so I have found that it is tested by the manufacturer upto a load of 700kg per wheel. The Mercedes rating for the 115CDi are Gross Vehicle weight 2770Kg, so the Borbets are ok but the axle weights are 1470Kg front and 1470Kg rear ie. 2940Kg total, how does that work, why the difference? Should I change all the wheels to original equipment alloys?
