I am wanting to build a ramp in to my garage. I was just thinking dig a foundation, then use block to build up the angle. Infill with rubble then type one, then
concrete the top.
Advice would be helpful. Here is a few suit pictures.
Can’t help with the ramp but seeing your land rover there and your blocks etc does remind me of the way they used to park the new ones on the pile of rocks in the dealerships. Very cool!
if not just dig 5ft away about 2 blocks deep 8" then slope it towards your garage at a slight incline
this will give you an 18" wide ramp all the way to the garage entrance you can also do it concrete at that distance as well but side walls will need to be built the closer you get to the garage which is the way i would go
Dig the soil out and make the run up long enough and shallow and shutter it then just fill in with concrete. You could tie it in to the edge of your garage base and drop a bit of reinforcing into the shuttering if you want.
Can you also drill a few horizontal holes into the threshold, tight fit on a bit of steel round bar, hammer them in ,leave 4” protruding,to tie in the new slab to the old.
If you or a future owner need to get something lower than a Landover in in the future, it might need to be considerably less steep. With a similar situation, I had to bring the top of the ramp into my garage a few feet to get a not too steep ramp.
