That sounds like a neat system for setting the posts, but doesn't sound like it would also carry the weight of the gates without flexing the rod which is only half secured - or am I wrong?

I need to test the swing of both gates during a dummy run install as they have to catch back onto the railings either side. I normally mock up installs in my workshop to find faults but in this situation I don't have enough space as each railing panel is 3m long.

Industrial buildings are set upon threaded bolts which are concrete in but have a cardboard cone around the upper half to allow them to bend for fitting. Once the steel is packed and bolted down they grout in the cones to secure the rods.

And that's exactly how 30m monoples are fitted albeit the studs are actually welded to grillage that's cast into the foundation.

Thanks for your patience folks, which I'm sure must be running thin by now. Sorry for being slow on the uptake, I know how to bend metal, how to install the stuff is a different matter.
The second part of your quote is what I'm struggling with - when does that second pour that covers the rest of the rod happen? If the second pour of concrete casts in the base plate that's no good to me as I need to remove the double gates & 6m of railings to take for weatherproofing once I've established they sit perfect. If the second pour happens after the gates & railings have returned from weatherproofing which means during the dummy run flexing rods are to be expect, that worries me as I need to know that the posts are perfect when the gates are open as well as closed. If the rods flex with inertia I'm getting a false reading.

Surely casting a couple of 24" cube concrete lumps in situ on site well in advance with the aid of a simple template is the answer? Day of dummy run = drill and resin in threaded rod, shim posts to perfection, test swing & gates latching back onto fence, undo nuts & lift off gates, take for weatherproofing. Day of install = drop post base plates onto previously resined in rods, tighten nuts, back fill with, go home.

It seems to me like the system previously described by many of you kind folk is designed to give a rough landing pad which is then improved by flexing rod to allow for adjustment to installations that happen in one hit. Not when the item is then taken away.

That should work as you say the gates are only around 50kg

Yeah half a ton of concrete should hold 50kg of gate.

Anyway, most gates have the adjustment on the hinges. Fix the posts in plumb with the hinge plates the same height and use the jacking bolts on the gate hinges to bring them level and set the gap.
