Compressor enclosure ?

A friend of mine had a belt driven compressor in a shed behind the workshop wired to a remote switch that didn't operate the unloader and the motor lasted about a year before the strain got too much for it. I had the SIP version of your compressor in the shed with me and it never bothered me or the neighbours. When it was on and running if I was outside the shed it was no noisier than next door's lawnmower.

I have this type of compressor, and as long as you allow the compressor to fill up and switch itself off, it can be switched off remotely, if you switch off at the mains whilst the compressor is running, it will blow the fuse in the plug when it restarts, because of the backpressure release not working untill the tank is full. Fitting an oil bath air filter makes a huge difference to the noise a compressor makes, and filters the air much better too!

You could try a sound curtain made of that thick sound absorbing rubber....that was my plan but when my belt driven compressor arrived it was pretty quiet anyway so I just never got around to it. You'd need to use the dedicated material for the job...I think it works my absorbing sound (a bit like lead sheet).
