Comparing AMD with intel.

I have been offered a laptop for 80 quid but not sure how it compares with Intel I numbers.

Don't think it's as easy as comparing that but a quick search shows very roughly comparable to an i5-6200

When I built my work PC a few years back AMD tended to rule the roost on number of CPU cores for the same price (more important to me as truly multi-threaded) but Intel was better for single threaded performance. I built a PC using an AMD Ryzen Thread ripper and to build something Intel with the same number of cores would have been three or four times the price.

I'd be more concerned with the teeny tiny 8gb of ram.

If it's for general use it will be fine regardless of AMD or intel.

i have to agree with sako

ive been amd based for a very long time pc gamer and other stuff so the amd suited me better only when using programs like word or excel did intel fair better with intel

but for being the better version amd was better

intel finaly caught up and changed things and now is top but amd is at it again the issue now is down to temp differences between the cores

its changing again
