We used to put the right angle lip on the bottom and clamp in place then push the wide part of the metal up to start the bend and take it off to finish in the vice round a piece of scaffold or similar. First one I remember doing was on a Fiat 127, first car I went over 100 mph in.
.. the one I had as an apprentice struggled to do 70, mind you it was kinda worn out, the full 50 quids worth....Blimey, must have been a turbo 127.. We had one in the 70's as her run about. Quite enthusiastic for it's little donk (well, it was a Fiat..) but flat out at about 80, in decent conditions. We used to put the right angle lip on the bottom and clamp in place then push the wide part of the metal up to start the bend and take it off to finish in the vice round a piece of scaffold or similar.
