Companies to bend up sills from a template

Does anyone know of any companies within the London area (or within a reasonable distance from there) who could bend me two sills panels from a template?

bend sills up by hand and wood and a vice

ive done enough of them via that method for lengths of 6ft there easy to do with 0.8mm steel

Got anymore info on how you do that? Got a vague idea but would rather use a tried and tested method.

with a deep throat vice or normal vice

so a good 6" height with a 3" deep throat has to be bent into shape

start off from the middle and bend along its length making sure your inline lift the metal up and do the same and same again until you aquire a rough round shape matching yor half profile then spin and do the same again until you have your curve for the lip down the bottom spin and set your steel to the required length and then bend until you have your spot tack level to weld to the rear metal

to attach to this with spot welds

We used to put the right angle lip on the bottom and clamp in place then push the wide part of the metal up to start the bend and take it off to finish in the vice round a piece of scaffold or similar. First one I remember doing was on a Fiat 127, first car I went over 100 mph in.

steep hills and windy round your way is it.. .. the one I had as an apprentice struggled to do 70, mind you it was kinda worn out, the full 50 quids worth....

Companies who do duct work or industrial building steel cladding are usually skilled enough to make such sills.

I used Mondeo sills to repair a puma one. the profile was not exact but near enough to get a descent patch including the bottom seam weld lip.

So if you can find a similar vehicle that has sills available that may put you in the ball park

Blimey, must have been a turbo 127.. We had one in the 70's as her run about. Quite enthusiastic for it's little donk (well, it was a Fiat..) but flat out at about 80, in decent conditions.
Bit later, I was taken by a client to his house. He had a modded Fiat, clocked 260 kph on the way. Quite enough for me in a little box car. His previous had been some Italian well known Red car. Seems he missed it.
