Compact RCBOs

I've seen and connected a fair bit of CHINT mcb's. Not full Dis Boards as I'm not an 18th Edition Sparks.
A local Elec Wholesaler sells a fair bit of CHINT stuff, while I've seen their breakers fitted OE on a fair few generators coming out of Italy (that the firm I worked for till a year ago gets in).

You know its Chinese, but having said that I'm not aware of any failures either. I reckon it's debatable whether modern premium branded stuff (Schneider, Merlin Geran etc) is worth the premium.

(I used to have to use an RCD Tester to prove the disconnection time in ms of RCD's fitted to a customer fleet of portable industrial generators with MG kit on - and despite irregular use a surprising number used to fail).

As per the first post I was looking at Chint, no fly lead, compact RCBOs, cheap as on the usual Chinese sites but I couldn't find them in Type B. So I gave up and went with Fusebox.

A total aside but we've just had a major upgrade of all our antiquated poles and overhead cables. UKPN and their subby Avidety seem to have done a cracking job and were a pleasure to deal with both the office side and lads on the tools.

I've the option to go PME later. Ze of 0.27 ohms. That sounds great except the scallies keep nicking the cables going to the earth spikes at the bottom of the poles. They come along with a grinder and cut them off as high as they can reach or stand on their van roof. Nobody seems concerned what that could do to the earth path. The lads doing the work on the poles said they had a white van following them picking up the offcuts! Hence my sticking with my rod and plate arrangement for now.

It does annoy me when these companies don't "sweat the detail". Just sat down to CAD up a new gland plate for the top of the Fusebox consumer unit and I find their published technical data is wrong!

Time for a strongly worded letter methinks!
