Thanks for your advice bud..will check the hoses when i take of the ex plate to clean, and i might take the advice from Wozzaaah too and have a spare for a fast change over.

It prevents the boiler being out of commission and the wife moaning that she has to take cold showers.

Our boiler was out of action last summer for a week or so, I really didn’t mind having cold showers on hot days.

water pressure is over 1 bar your rads are 1 bar pressure it can pressurise your central heating system rather well

when us plumbers are topping up the system we use mains pressure to do this which is really common scence

in poor areas you can use pumps to create pressure on the systems

nowadays in poor pressure areas we can use both pump and expension tanks to gain presssure on the system

Yes I fully understand how to pressurise the system but that wasn't his problem, his problem is low pressure / flow at the hot water taps, ie bathroom & kitchen

your still on the mind set its one tap its not

its actually 2 taps being fed by the same flow until pressure builds up

it gives the apearence of low pressure

No Gaz its not mate..cold water to kitchen and bathroom is fed via straight from main house feed, hot water to the taps is fed through the boiler
