College welding class too expensive in Chester

Seems i have waited since last year for nothing. The prices at West Cheshire (Chester) College are now £800 and £600 for the city & guilds TIG and MIG courses and no reductions for those recieving benefits or retired, like they used to do. There is no way I can afford that or anything like it.

Came away feeling really gutted after waiting for so long to sign up for my level 3 (I think levels 1 and 2 are equally expensive)

(Dont suppose anyone knows of any places near to Chester doing any similar courses like they used to ? )

Does Reaseheath do anything? I was at college there for AgEng not so many years ago. The welding room set-up there is very good.

Worth a phone call. At those prices you would be better off buying a welder and getting stuck in. Read some books on welding (can recommend 'the science and practice of welding' by A.C Davies) and get to it.

I have several welding machines and years of experience, also i already have the level 1 and 2 C & G in MIG, TIG and level 1 in Arc. Just wanted to do the level 3, as it included more advanced positional welding.

I already am a welder. I just wanted to obtain my level 3 MIG and TIG. Looks like I left it too long if i wanted to do it on the cheap.
