I don’t begrudge Colin one little bit. Common sense to take the opportunity and he is special
Now abom79 constantly asking for money with patron , rehashing old videos and now taking a workshop full of new cnc stuff to make informercials can stuff it

I gave up on him a couple if years back. Very annoying.

I liked abom79 when he was making videos of work he was doing, he's a very skilled machinist, now he seems to just create jobs that will showcase a product.

Ditto. I used to watch his old stuff then he did about six episodes one after the other about using a shaper. People left comments but he didn’t take the hint.

As for the topic, I can’t stand Colin furze. He annoys me. I don’t begrudge him anything as he’s worked for it but I can’t watch his videos.

Everything else on mine is original.

It did blow up after a season but it was running in a silly state of tune.

Youtube is fantastic for learning anything you need to know. There are lectures from leading professionals on every subject known to man. It's not just idiots!
Watch a few clickspring videos and if you aren't impressed then nothing will. A true craftsman and master of his art.

Youtube has it's place for those reasons above, it's not where I go to be entertained. Furze is a bit too OOT shouty for my taste but good luck to him.

My spawn in law has a channel on there and I know how much work it takes to make it look professional.

Youtube is a very useful resource. It's like forums, but in video form.

Same as with anything, you glean the bits you need, & ignore the obvious crap.

One thing that does annoy me though, is with, woodworking especially, when they leave raggy edges, instead of just giving them a quick lick with either sandpaper or a plane. It's akin to not deburring metal edges. Gets my goat. Finishing makes or breaks a job.

I’ve watched a few videos recently looking for tips on rod bending machines and came across a thing called ‘Inheritance Machining’.
It’s not my thing because it’s latheing and milling, but this guy impressed me with his skill.

It’s worth considering the Axminster 150x2000 belt sander. I’ve had one for 2 years and it’s excellent.

my old neighbours edit and create the youtube content for a "Gamer" with 11M subscribers, he bought a £3.6m house in surrey outright as his first house at 23

I like Furze, and unlike many, his builds are actually very well thought out and very well finished.

The Drift trike builds are great, dodgem was pretty cool too

I get a bit more than that and have a good CPM, I couldn’t last a week on it haha.

Which is why I said viewers, not subscribers, you need to be getting that for live simultaneous viewers. Hell if all you do is livestream on there instead of videos you could stumble along on 250-300 when you account for superchats and other donations.
His premieres alone get a live audience of 4-5K watching together at once. God knows what he gets in donations and 3rd party sponsorships, you only have to see some of the sponsored stuff he has made for that.
