I had originally intended to spray my MG bodyshell this summer but various thing conspired to delay the work. I really want to move my project along now I have the time available so delaying the spraying to next summer isn't really an option.
My initial paint plan in a nutshell is to:
Key the initial manufacturer e-primer
Apply one coat of 2k primer/surfacer (have some Lechler for the job)
Do my seam selaing
Apply second coat of 2k primer/surfacer
Crack on with rest of build, trial fit major parts and then do topcoats.
I'd like to at least get the primer & sealing done asap but I am concerned about the colder temperatures and what implications cold weather spraying might have.
I'm working in a wooden garage; would need to acquire suitable heating etc if that was necessary.
Before anyone asks, I have the necessary PPE, second compressor etc. for using 2k!
Any thoughts or advice? If winter spraying is a no-no or is likely to go wrong I will have to bite the bullet and pay for a pro-job.
Thanks,
Duncan
