Cold saw coolant

Hope everyone is enjoying Christmas day and night....Now the reason i am here, what's the preferred fluid for running a cold saw please guys and any links to buy it?...or is there a get out of jail method/solution when you don't have any.

so is any other liquid i use the original rocol cutting compound paste watered down with some turps and just spread a bit over hacksaw blades drills taps and dies and a bit over the metal im cutting on the mechanical hacksaw , works a treat

As said above, a cold saw is a large slitting saw. Thus, it is expensive to replace the blade. You can also think of it as a large hole saw but wrapped differently in a circle.

The main function of the coolant on this machine is not so much to cool but to flush the chips away from the kerf and from the gullets of the blade. Anything less than a stream will not be good for a long blade life. In a pinch if the correct white water is not available, use water with washing soda dissolved in it. I have not seen it done (probably because it is even messier than water) but you could blast the chips away with an airline.
