I was pondering for years on a means to separate the lub oil out of the cutting suds, other than mopping it up with tissue. The Colchester oil changes, ways lub'ing etc meant a substantial amount of oil in the tray. On the ML7 it got emulsified by the pump and created a foamy mess in the tray. The separator on the Chinese coolant system hadn't been seam welded, so the separated oil leaked back into tank. Foam every where. Fixed the welds and all OK.
So I decided to see if it was possible to make an in-line separator that actually worked, purely academic interest.
As I'm about install a suds system on the Colchester, I thought I'd idle some time away and see if I could get it to work. It does!
Messy test but pleased.
