They are fixed with cam locks for the want of a better description fit a key turn 1/4 and they unlock. and there is a taper for it to pull down on i always wipe clean on the chuck and head before fitting the chuck. well thats on my master 2500

Now thats just up my street, 11",-- lots of similar models, 5A, 140, put a pic up and we know where we are going.
Heres a manual, and possibly an easier explanation of the speed selectors-- if they are the same speed range choices. what screwcutting gearbox you got, 2 knobs or 3 knobs??
