Co2 or an argon mix?

i am using straight co2 at the moment, and im thinking about switching to using argon mix instead. is there a noticeable difference? apart from the price of course!

It all depends on what metal you are welding!

i like the mix i use which is i belive 75% argon 23% co2 and 2% o2 its called garage gas 3 yr rental for a 10L bottle 50 quid and 30 per fill and they also do pure argon works well on rusty metal as i can be fairly lazy cleaning up

thanks i dont mind cleaning, and i payed £50 for life time rental, then £18 for straight co2, what company do you get yours from?

Use a mix with around 5% CO2 in it for thin metal, argon isn't really suitable for welding steel due to no penetration
