does anyone know what size thread is on pub bottles as i am looking for some blanking nuts mainly to put on when i have them filled and to keep dirt out.cheers .Kev.
They normally stick a plastic cap over the thread to protect it and keep crap out (remember the pub ones are used on food products) The refillers should fit them and may also drop a heatshrink plastic collar over the tap and thread output, then quick blast with heat gun.
We never fill CO2 cylinders with Argon , if you connect a CO2 cylinder ( which may be rated to 137 bar at best ) to a cylinder at 200 or 300 bar or connect it to a filling plant working at 200 - 300 BAR IT WILL EXPLODE AND KILL ANYBODY NEAR IT !!!!!!!
I have experienced a 300 BAR Aeroquip hose burst , the experience is not one that I would recommend
Hmmm, in my workshop is a pub CO2 bottle that I've had for at least ten years that was one of three I bought from a guy who was selling all his workshop kit; it has Argon chalked on it. I've often wondered if it does have Ar in it and if so, how do I tell?
When I asked the seller how he got Ar in a CO2 bottle he just winked and said he knew the right people. Or maybe the wrong people
Unlikeyy I would have thought. Co2 sits at 40 bar or so max in the summer as it is a liquidy solid powdery stuff. Argon is still a gas snd often 200 or 230 bar. Boc are 300 I believe.
