CO2 bottle conversion

Hi All.
This question will probably have been asked before - if so please point me to the thread. How do I convert my Clarke 150 to use a refillable bottle? I have a bottle of pub gas - is this OK or are special fittings needed?

Hi bikerbob, welcome to the forum . The best thing to do is to send a PM to weldequip who is a welding supplier on here. He will have what you need in stock .

This is what Weldequip sells, they're around the £40 mark;
"A proper, industrial 2 gauge regualtor & conversion pipe kit. Available for CO2 or Argon mixtures..."

Well that looks like the very thing. Just to be clear, is it the same thread on pub CO2 bottles as the kind you get from BOC et al?

No, one is a female fitting the other is a male fitting. Different pressures aswell. Just make sure you have pure co2 and not nitrogen mix( this is used more in pubs than co2 now). Can safely say you will find it easier with argon/co2 mix gas.
