Cloth for coating car rubber seals

Does anyone know a source for the above, it used extensively on the seals on my 450sl but frays well before the seals need replacing.

Here is a pic of a repair a guy in the US did with a product he could purchase over there.

i can buy it from the US but shipping is $50 more than twice the cost of the tape.

You might know this but 'drill' is the name of the fabric/cloth (in a similar way that denim is a fabric name).

Hence, 'black drill fabric' would find some UK sources. You would have to assess whether they are a close enough match.

As it’s just narrow strips you need I think you should be looking at cotton webbing
