clear lacquer for indoor use on bare metal?

Ive done mild steel with "forced patina" with upol 2k before and there were no issues.

Other options may be just as good - im just saying what ive done that worked! : )

For indoor use in a dry environment there’s no need to over think it any satin lacquer will do, I’ve successfully used rustolium in the past .

I also used it on a weather vane which is still looking "okay" after three years outside and no re-application.

Daughter used that on the thin ali pub sign she did. Thin so quite flexible. Been out for a year in all weathers and seen some abuse. Standing up well. The sign is acrylic paint over etch primer. The frame is black Bedec barn paint.
