rub them up with cillit bang and scotchpad then beadblast them

Scotch pad and white spirit and dremel with wire wheels.

If it was really bad Electrolosis first.

Personally i think when rust has ravaged measuring equipment like that, its scrap.

Something that I've found works quite well recently is a brass spark plug brush dipped in a engine oil. The brass is soft enough not to affect the metal too much

I would guess about £15-20 each

I'm with Ronan on this. The only sort of person who would buy it, would want to restore it themselves. And they'd want it dirt cheap too... (ask me how I know)

But how would you even restore this height gauge ? You would have to surface grind all the rust off to get back to clean unmarked metal, taking all the scales off it at the same time. Remark the scales and then have it satin chrome plated again. A huge amount of work for nothing when you can buy those chesterman height gauges off ebay for small money.

It would be a challenge. Can't think of any other reason you'd want one in that condition. Or there may be some rare irreplaceable but useable part, so long as the seller doesn't dunk it into a bucket of acid before they try to flog it on.

when I 1st looked thought it was graduated in Chinese all them markings up it it will make a good paperweight

Its still readable so could be used as is
