Cleaning gun after epoxy primer

I might be overthinking this...

Im thinking of using a spray gun to epoxy prime the chassis of my LC after a couple of weeks' (home-made) evaporust spray immersion.

The epoxy I'm using (hempel Hempadur 45141/45143 - whichever is the winter grade version) starts to gel after about 30mins. [1]

Question:
This effectively means I'm going to need to clean the gun every hour or so???

Will a quick spray through with gun wash/mek between each batch be enough to stop the gun clogging?

I'm guessing I'm going to be doing about ?8? batches over 4-6 hours

I'm not really familiar with paint spraying - certainly not a job this big, and never with epoxy primer.
Id really rather not wreck my paint gun(s)!

[1] I realise I could swap to summer grade hardener to extend this a bit, but doesn't change my question.

just tet on with it and keep going till finished the jet will be getting fresh paint all the time then clen the gun with whatever thinners is used for it . will still be soft enough to clean off . if it was me i have a few expensive guns and a few crappy or cheap guns for undercoating

This has always been my thoughts for "normal" paint, but I had visions of solid, solvent resistant, epoxy jamming up my gun and having to be chiselled out or just thrown out.

I've never had a problem with that hempadur but I'm rarely using it after 30mins anyway...

I'd say just crack on with it. Make sure you have some xylene based thinners, that'll soften it.

I use a gun I can afford to throw away for epoxy. I've not had to yet.
I use cheap standard thinners for cleaning.

Keep it cold until your ready for it, pot life is very dependant on temperature.

I'd suggest its worth using a seperate gun for epoxy primer, you never get all of it out.

Between batches I would flush some thinners through it, nozzle out and quick clean with brush. Infact I'd give it a quick but nearly full clean.

If you're worried, as above, if its going to be and hour or more between coats, 1" of gun wash and blow it through, backwards and forewards Nick
