cleaning a 2" pipe

I have a 2" steel pipe which has some crud built up in the bottom of it. Pipe has a number of twists and turns some 90degree bends in it too. Its actually a Vacuum line. Crud is dry now as line has been idle for last month.

Any ideas on how to clean. Pipe is not blocked.

2" pipe with bends is too small to put the drain jetter/rotating nozzle on the power washer through it.

Was wondering is there any rotating compressed air nozzle similar to powerwasher nozzle that I could put through it.

We used to thread cable ducts with mains , computer & phone services etc in new office set up's where all manner of twists & turns were encountered .

Using a strong vacuum cleaner suck an anchored long a strong cord tied to a small plastic bag through it then pull a stronger line through , For you also get hold of a flue cleaning brush or some of the hairy keep leaves out your gutter stuff from Wickes .

Form a strong eye at both ends removing hairs as needed then with a mate pull it through fully back and forth several time from each end using the vacuum at the end where the brush has just gone in to suck out loosened crud . Change the vacuum over to the other end once the brush has been inserted for the same reason.

yes indeed, but powerwasher hose is 1/2" hydraulic pipe or v similar, far too stiff to be trying to get around 90degree bends

The hoses I use are 6mm id and called flexi but there is a smaller option. 1/2” hose tends to be used on tow jetters rather than pressure washers

only way to clean it is to cut it at certain places and fit a joint back in

you can try fill with water and try a fast drain to try and shift some crud but it dosnt work too well

nothing really will clean out 2" pipe unless you remove at certain points and clean then refit the pipe

You could try with a foam pig. They are available in small sizes down to 1 inch.

You might need a special - something with a loop both ends so you can go back and forth with your scouring action.

As above, knowing length of pipe and nature of crud would help. Boiling hot water and caustic soda or citric acid or strong detergent could work, as could steam cleaning.
