Indeed sir, that is true. I should have said it grew during the intervening years. The new owner got a free wasp nest as big as a football which had grown in the boot in the intervening years.
If it was a wasps nest, it grew in one year only. They all die out each year apart from the hibernating mated queens from that year. Wasps nests are not re-used after the one season.
Loving the Karman Gia. Is it around 1968 vintage ?Don't have any now, 32 years in the motortrade has kinda made me bored of them but heres a couple of my last. The beetle I did everything myself apart from the initial baja kit and fit new valves to the heads.

And then there is the Saunders fast motor launch, built in 1905 & halfway through a long fits & starts total rebuild.
Nothing at the moment mores the pity unless you include the locost
Just a 20 years old fiat Punto MK2 .
1.2 litres 8valves fire multipoint injection.
With some particular accidental mods.
Wrong head gasket (lower)
Wrong injectors (from the 1.6 sporting)
Quick steering column (1.2 turns)
Straight exhaust pipe (someone hit something and it's missing good part of it )
ECU map (lambda sensor will keep the injectors open longer) .
Race suspension (broken shocks )
90 Hp instead of 69 and a donkey (who drives it)
Hope to have make you laugh
1963 coach built GC Smith Commer horsebox, split windscreen TS3.
Citroen HY, can't remember what age. Good nick.
A two door Morris minor, stripped ready for sand blasting in my other workshop....
My parents also have a Moggy pick up, waiting to be restored.
The list is long....
Photos tomorrow, it's dark.
Nearly. It was/is a 66 (one year only) south african import. I paid about £3500 for it and sold it for around £7k, the new owner had the flames painted over. Other than the flames it was standard but I wanted something to wind up the keep it original people. The beetle was a 61 austrailian import, previously owned by an 85 year old who had it baja'd but eventually couldn't drive due to dodgy ankles. My boss found it parked up under a tree on a paddock near canberra.Loving the Karman Gia. Is it around 1968 vintage ?
